LF Trailers manufactures Category O2 trailers — trailers with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) greater than 750 kg and up to 3 500 kg. These are towable by cars and pickup trucks. We do not manufacture large semi-trailer combinations.

LF Trailers is accredited by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS) and registered with the Motor Industry Board (MIB) as a trailer manufacturer. This means our builds comply with South African compulsory specifications and can be homologated with a Letter of Authority (LOA) where applicable.

Every LF Trailer can be customised. During your quote consult we discuss deck dimensions, tank material, pump type, mounting points, and any specialist fittings your job requires. Use the customisation field on the quote form to describe your needs.

Our steel diesel bowsers come in 600, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 and 5000L. Polyethylene bowsers come in 600, 1000, 1500 and 2500L. Not sure which size fits your site? Tell us the job and we'll recommend one.

Diesel and water tanker trailers can be fitted with a hand pump or 12V electric pump. Specify your preference in the quote request or discuss options during your consult.

All LF Trailers feature 1.6-ton axles as standard. Load capacity and GVM are configured to your trailer type and remain within Category O2 limits unless otherwise specified for site-only builds.

Yes. LF Trailers serves customers across South Africa from our West Rand, Gauteng facility. We also occasionally supply into other parts of Africa. Include your delivery province in the quote form for accurate logistics planning.

We respond to quote requests within 48 hours. Complex custom builds may require a follow-up call to confirm specifications before final pricing.

About 10 working days per trailer once the spec is confirmed. If your job can't wait, tell us your date and we'll do our best to build sooner.

Yes. Our road trailers are supplied with a data plate and VIN so they can be registered on NATIS. The one exception is the 5000L diesel site tanker, which is built for site use only and doesn't come with registration papers. Every road trailer leaves our yard with its GVM and tare mass on the data plate, as the National Road Traffic Act requires. Site-only trailers, like our 5000L site tanker, are noted as not for road registration.

Polyethylene is the more affordable option and suits very bad roads, but it has no baffle plates. Steel is heavier and has baffle plates inside the tank to steady the fuel while you tow, which is why most mines choose it. Polyethylene comes in 600L to 2500L, and steel in 600L to 5000L.

Yes. We have extra photos and videos of our builds and are happy to send them. Ask for them when you request your quote.
